MyoSure® Minimally Invasive Myomectomy

At Cohen Medical Practice, your safety and long-term health are our top priorities. While the appearance of fibroids, polyps, and other uterine growths can cause a tremendous amount of discomfort, their removal shouldn’t involve extensive surgery. In an effort to give you the best treatment, we happily offer the MyoSure® Minimally Invasive Myomectomy procedure. This treatment option is designed to remove uterine growth quickly and easily while minimizing the risk of long-term uterine damage. This is a great choice if you want to improve the health of your uterus without ruining your chances of pregnancy.

What Is a MyoSure® Myomectomy?

The MyoSure® tissue removal procedure is a hysteroscopic treatment designed to remove uterine tissue, including fibroids and polyps. The simplicity of this technique allows women to alleviate heavy periods, frequent urination, and other abnormal uterine symptoms without having to undergo major surgery.

What Does a Myomectomy Address?

A MyoSure® Myomectomy can be an excellent option for removing growths in the uterus. Both fibroids and polyps can cause several unpleasant symptoms such as pelvic pain, incontinence, and abnormal bleeding. By removing them, you can live a more comfortable and healthy life. While MyoSure® is a good choice for growth removal, it is not appropriate for patients who are or may be pregnant, are exhibiting pelvic infection, cervical malignancies, or have previously diagnosed uterine cancer.

How Does a MyoSure® Minimally Invasive Myomectomy Work?

This treatment can be performed in three simple steps. First, the cervix is opened and a slender camera is passed through into your uterus. This is followed by the insertion of a slender wand through your vagina into your uterus. The side of the wand gently cuts the fibroid or polyp and suctions them through a small open window into the wand and out of your body. Once the fibroid or polyp has been extracted, the wand is removed from the uterus.

What Is the Myomectomy Recovery Time?

The entire MyoSure® procedure can be performed in as little as 15-20 minutes. Following your visit, you may experience some cramping, mild pain, nausea, or vomiting. That being said, you should be able to resume normal activities within a few days. Our team at Cohen Medical Practice may provide you with aftercare instructions. If you have any questions or concerns, you may reach out to our 24/7 hotline at any time.
