Meet Dr. Abrams
Board-Certified Gynecologist
Dr. Janet Abrams brings more than 20 years of experience in women’s health to Cohen Medical Practice. She began her medical training at First Tashkent State Medical School, graduating with high honors in 1992 before completing her OB/GYN residency there. She continued her training in New York at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Flushing Hospital Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Dr. Abrams provides compassionate, expert care across a wide range of women’s health needs. She is fluent in English and Russian, and is deeply committed to helping women feel supported, understood, and empowered in their care.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Abrams has held academic appointments for over a decade, serving as a GYN Clinical Instructor at NYU Langone Medical Center and Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG).
Dr. Abrams’ philosophy centers on the importance of preventative medicine and building trusted relationships with her patients. She believes that education, compassion, and attentive listening are the foundations of meaningful care.
When she’s not with patients, Dr. Abrams enjoys reading, traveling—especially to Italy—and exploring new cultures.
